Privacy and ad blocking
Flecha has no account, no analytics and no crash reports. Nothing about you is sent to Flecha. This page lists exactly what the app connects to, so you can check it against the code.
What Flecha connects to
Section titled “What Flecha connects to”- The sites you visit, and your search engine when you search: Google by default, or DuckDuckGo, Bing, Brave Search, Kagi or Ecosia (Settings › General).
- Update checks to
flecha.dev, and downloads fromdl.flecha.dev, through Sparkle. They carry what any request carries, such as your IP address and Flecha’s version. - Site icons: for sites Chromium has no icon for, Flecha asks the site itself for its icon, without cookies. No third-party icon service is used.
- Your own Mac: Flecha checks common ports on
localhostto list your dev servers. - Services built into Chromium, as in any Chromium browser, and updates for extensions you install.
Flecha ships without Google API keys, so Chromium’s own sign-in and sync are off. You can still sign in to Google sites as usual.
Where your data lives
Section titled “Where your data lives”Tabs, Spaces, history, settings, cookies and Boosts are in your Flecha profile at ~/Library/Application Support/Flecha Browser. Back it up, move it to a new Mac or delete it. Nothing is stored anywhere else.
The MCP server for coding agents is off until you turn it on, listens only on 127.0.0.1 and needs a token.
Ad and tracker blocking
Section titled “Ad and tracker blocking”Flecha blocks ads and trackers out of the box, with the EasyList and EasyPrivacy lists.
- Requests are blocked by Chromium’s built-in rule engine (declarativeNetRequest), and EasyList’s element-hiding rules hide leftover ad slots.
- It works in every Space.
- The lists ship inside the app and are refreshed with each Flecha update; Flecha doesn’t download them separately.
- Turn it off in Settings › Privacy › Block ads and trackers. There’s no per-site allowlist yet.
Want more? Content blockers from the Chrome Web Store, such as uBlock Origin Lite, work alongside it.
Incognito
Section titled “Incognito”Incognito windows keep Flecha’s look, always dark, with one temporary Space that’s forgotten when the last incognito window closes. Coding agents can’t see incognito tabs.
This website
Section titled “This website”flecha.dev uses Google Analytics. The app never does. See the privacy policy.
