Switch from Arc to Flecha
The Browser Company is sunsetting Arc: Arc stops working on macOS and Windows on December 22, 2026, and Arc accounts and their data are deleted within 30 days after that. Flecha keeps the ideas that made Arc worth using: a vertical sidebar, Spaces, pinned tabs that come back to where they started, Peek and split view. It is real Chromium, so your Chrome extensions work and you can sign in to Google sites as usual, and it’s open source, so it can’t be shut down from one day to the next.

Flecha’s interface is rebuilt from scratch. It uses no Arc code and is not affiliated with The Browser Company.
Import your Arc sidebar
Section titled “Import your Arc sidebar”-
Install Flecha, and before opening it for the first time, set up the helper. Importing reads Arc’s files on your Mac, which needs the helper.
-
Open Flecha. The welcome tour starts on its own.
-
On the Bring your stuff over step, click Import next to Arc. Flecha shows how many bookmarks and pages it brought in.
What comes over from Arc
Section titled “What comes over from Arc”Flecha reads your sidebar from ~/Library/Application Support/Arc/StorableSidebar.json and your history from Arc’s profile folders. It only reads them; nothing is uploaded or changed.
| In Arc | In Flecha |
|---|---|
| Spaces, with their name and emoji | Spaces with the same name and emoji. Colours are not brought over; Flecha gives each Space one of its own. |
| Pinned tabs and folders, including nested folders | Pinned tabs and folders in the same Space |
| Unpinned tabs | Today tabs (folders are flattened) |
| Favorites (the icons at the top of the sidebar) | Favorites |
| History | History, searchable from the command bar |
These stay behind: archived tabs, Little Arc windows, Easels, Arc Boosts, Space themes and colours, passwords and cookies. You’ll need to sign in to sites again.
Where Arc’s features are in Flecha
Section titled “Where Arc’s features are in Flecha”| Arc | Flecha |
|---|---|

| Spaces, switch with ⌃1–9 | Spaces, ⌃1–9, or ⌥⌘← / →, or a two-finger swipe on the sidebar |
| Profiles | Separate Cookies and Logins per Space: right-click the Space. Stay signed in as two people side by side. |
| Today tabs that archive themselves | Today tabs archive after 12 hours by default (1 day, 7 days, 30 days or never in Settings › Tabs). The archive is searchable from the command bar. |
| Clear unpinned tabs | Clear Today, ⇧⌘K |
| Peek | Peek: links from pinned tabs and favorites open in a floating card. Esc closes it, Open as Tab keeps it. |
| Split View | Split view with two panes, ⌃⇧= |

On top of that, Flecha adds tools for people who build websites: one key to move a page between local, staging and production, a phone-sized view next to the desktop one, your local dev servers in the sidebar, built-in ad blocking and a bridge for coding agents. See every key in Keyboard shortcuts.
Importing from other browsers
Section titled “Importing from other browsers”The same Bring your stuff over step also reads bookmarks and history from Chrome, Brave, Edge, Vivaldi, Opera, Opera GX, Chromium, Firefox and Safari.
- Bookmarks become pinned tabs in a new Space named after the browser, with one folder per profile.
- Up to 2,000 bookmarks and 5,000 history entries per profile come over. Only
httpandhttpspages are imported. - Safari’s data can only be read with Full Disk Access. If Flecha asks for it, turn it on in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Full Disk Access, then import again.
- Passwords and cookies are never imported.
